Tonight
Northwest winds 15 to 20 knots...diminishing to 10 to 15 knots late. Mostly cloudy early in the evening...becoming partly cloudy overnight. A chance of light snow showers in the evening...then a slight chance of light snow showers after midnight. Waves 3 to 5 feet.
Friday
West winds 10 to 15 knots...becoming southwest 5 to 10 knots late in the morning...then increasing to 10 to 15 knots by afternoon. Partly cloudy in the morning...then mostly cloudy with a chance of light snow by afternoon. Waves 1 to 3 feet.
Friday Night
South winds 15 to 20 knots...increasing to 20 to 25 knots late in the evening...then diminishing to 15 to 20 knots after midnight. Cloudy. ...Small Craft Advisory in effect from noon today to 7 am EST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a Small Craft Advisory...which is in effect from noon today to 7 am EST Friday.

* Wind and waves: during the Small Craft Advisory...expect sustained winds up to 25 knots from the northwest with gusts up to 31 knots. The largest expected significant waves will be 5 feet with a potential maximum wave height of 7 feet.

* Timing: the maximum winds are expected around 4 PM Thursday with the largest waves expected around 10 PM Thursday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners...especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
