Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters
Scattered showers will linger over the coastal waters this morning as an upper level disturbance moves across south Texas. Northeast winds and seas will steadily increase through today as a surface low pressure area over the northwestern Gulf of Mexico strengthens and high pressure sinks southward across Texas. A moderate to strong offshore flow will occur tonight and Tuesday as high pressure builds into the area. Hurricane Ida is still expected to make landfall across the north/northeastern Gulf Coast on Tuesday. Winds and seas over the middle Texas coastal waters will start a weakening trend through Thursday. Onshore flow then returns to the area as high pressure moves east over the Gulf of Mexico.
Small Craft Advisory in effect through Tuesday morning
