Northern areas, as well as the West, might see temperatures skew above average in contrast to the South where wet conditions and typical temperatures are expected.
Alvin will continue to weaken and most likely dissipate this weekend, however, moisture from the storm will stream into the U.S. This moisture will not only bring rain to the Desert Southwest, but also help fuel storms across the Plains in the coming days. This will contribute to the development of severe weather for parts of the Plains on Monday and Tuesday. Watch to see where Alvin’s moisture could end up during the early part of the work week.
A preliminarily rated EF1 tornado touched down in Washington County, Kentucky early Friday morning, leaving behind mangled homes, scattered debris and at least one fatality. As emergency crews cut their way through downed trees to respond, video revealed splintered wood and leveled homes in the storm’s wake.
