Portezuelo, Chile

Caption: This is a composite shot of my wife and the Milky Way. I took a photo of my wife on bright afternoon, and a few nights later I took a single 3 minute exposure of the Milky Way. Both were taken at my in-laws' house in Portezuelo, Chile (where it gets so dark you can't even see your hand in front of your face).

Oh yes Bob. I envy myself for having done it. I've loved astronomy for as long as I can remember. I learned all the constellations, and everything else an amateur needs to know. Yet, when I go home to Chile I always have to venture out with a star chart because it's so dark there and there are sooooo many stars that it takes me forever to identify constellations. Good times!!

I envy your trip to the southern hemisphere where you can see stars that can't be seen from the USA.

Jackandcoke, thanks for the comment. Does your handle suggest your favorite drink? Lol. That along with Malibu Rum and coke are the only 2 drinks I drink.
