Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island

Caption: We just had to stop at Driftwood Beach again before leaving Jekyll Island. This has to be the most interesting beach I have visited. Laura is correct, the beach is different every time you visit. The tide is at a different point, exposing large boulders placed at the water's edge to prevent erosion; the noon light plays different hues, intensity and shadows. And there are more folks on the beach playing, climbing and admiring the beautiful art left by nature.

About gatorgal

gatorgal

My passion is photography. I love the natural areas, parks and preserves that are still a part of Florida. A resident of Gainesville since 1982, University of Florida employee, and enthusiastic photographer of nature and wildlife. I enjoy viewing and visiting places through your images and series. Photography is such a wonderful way to express yourself artistically and share the world around you. All comments and opinions are welcome. Marijka Willis gatorgalpics on Flickr
