My family is from Oklahoma and my wife's family is also from OK. Both of us have family in California. I don't think that the Dust Bowl caused them to leave but it seems as though everyone we know also has family in California. Another great shot Tim.

Sad to see agriculture this way, our countryside is littered with derilict farmsteads, not through drought but economics, just another arid plain!

About docshovel39

docshovel39

Hello , my name is Tim . I live in the small farming community of Ropesville , Texas with my wife and photo partner Sherry . My older brother Steve turned me on to digital photography eight or so years ago and I have truly enjoyed it - thanks Steve ! My favorite work , apart from his , is a fantastic book entitled "Ghosts In The Wilderness" by photographers Tony and Eva Worobiec . It captures the remains of small , abandoned rural communities across the Midwest , many of the photos done in monochrome . I am also a fan of photographer Jim McGuire . His black and white shots ( nashvilleportraits.com) are amazing . Thanks to the Wunderground community for having me and making the experience so much more enjoyable !
