Memo defending her Fawn

Uploaded by: TomsPhotoandmem

Sunday June 2, 2013

Rogers, AR (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Memo the doe I raised is doing this because her Fawn flirted with the buck, and got scared and Memo stomped in to rescue her. What a Sunday for my weekly visit with Memo's new fawn, it all went well, I even seen Memo take Meme under the deck to Memo's old home, where I supply feed, water, and a hay bed.

Tishu, I am sorry I am so late in answering your question about why the buck hangs around and it is because of the fawn he is there, he is introducing himself to the fawn. When I was walking Memo on a leash, I would have buck's wanting to get close to Memo too like this one is doing to Meme. Its like a buck is saying hi its me, just wanted to meet before I stalk you for over a year til mating season. And most Deer stay as a herd buck's doe's and fawn's all together.

Haven't been able to go out to my blind and watch the young fawns this spring and I really miss that. You do such an excellent job capturing them as they act naturally. Congrats on this fine AC and 10 from SW Iowa

Isn't it kind of unusual for the buck to be hanging around the does this time of year? I thought the bucks sort of form their own little groups when the does are raising their fawns.

Thanks on another AC, and so far its been two Sunday's in a roll that Memo brought MeMe to visit, during the week she comes by herself and either she goes under the deck eats and lays on her hay bed or she is wandering around they yard eating grass and weeds.

Wow, what a shot! Nature in action! I love the
fact that Memo trusts you with her baby, even
with your two dogs. I love seeing the photos
of the Mother/Baby pair! How awesome it must be
to watch it all in your own yard! Fantastic,
Tom! Congratulations on your AC!

Ahhh, so that's the new name, Meme. You just thought you would sneak that one by. Great choice. And what trust that Memo has to take her fawn to her old hangout under your porch. Beautiful!!!

Keep the pics and the updates coming.

PS you should think about writing a book!!!
