Washington Coast Storm

Uploaded by: PugetSoundPost

Sunday February 16, 2014

Westport, WA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: A strong storm was coming ashore on the Washington coast. Hard rain and strong winds were lashing the beach. The highest wind gust I measured was 54 mph, and it may have increased a little later. It was hard to stand or walk and the blowing sand you can see in this photo, even though it was wet with the rain, really stung us, and also coated us in sand. Quite a wonderful time storm chasing!

My husband and I, along with our four kids in college and beyond live in western Washington, but we like to venture further afield when time permits. We have enjoyed photography wherever we have gone and hope to add a little new perspective to any who may stop by to enjoy a bit of our journeys. We appreciate your interest and comments! Weather is also a passion of mine, so please drop by my blog for my musings about our weather here in the Puget Sound region!
