Aghir (Djerba), Tunisia

Caption: Djerba has low and irregular rainfall (averaging 8 inches (21 cm) per year). The sparse rainwater is captured by cisterns. Dome, vault and white painting protect from heat.
Fortress built by the Ottomans in the XVIIth century and transformed into customs office, then into holiday centre for young people.

About Minouchette

Minouchette

I was born on March 10th, 1958 (the same day as Sharon Stone). I lived in Braine-l'Alleud (near Waterloo) for 25 years. Since 1983, I'm living in Frameries near Mons in Belgium (close to the French border). I never go on vacation (... until this year), but I travel thanks to the very beautiful pictures I discover every day on Wunderground. I am pharmacist, but my hobbies are breeding canaries, piano and photography.I would like to make you discover Borinage, former region of collieries, and all Belgium, through my photos. I hope that you will enjoy them. More infos about weather and traditions in Belgium on my blog.My Home
