Caption: As you would imagine from a tree that flowers in late winter, not many of the seed do get pollinated. This is not a particularly good image, but it does show a mature seed pod, burst open, and ready to release the two shiny black seeds, while this year's new flowers open on stems that still hold last year's leaves.
