Caption: Saw this common cabbage butterfly today, not only sipping nectar at what flowers were available, but also visiting other plants. Wondered what it was doing. Investigated more closely and made a discovery... It was a female that was laying eggs! Makes me wonder if the larvae will have time to mature and pupate before cold weather.
