Caption: During the winter, people in these parts burn unwanted vegetation; it's the easiest way to get rid of it. We have several large clumps of Miscanthus (feather grass), which get untidy by Thanksgiving, with dried leaves blowing around the yard. Here, after a torch was set to it, the clump is now fully involved in the flames.
