Doing a Little Housekeeping

Danville, VA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Late this afternoon checked on pileated woodpecker. He came to the nest to feed babies and perhaps Mom. Then he went all the way in almost all I could see was tail feathers and then he disappeared into nest. Wasn't hardly a min before he popped his head out. It wasn't until I was viewing the photos that I realized he was cleaning house. If you look closely you can see that too. He is a great dad!

I hope Mom is okay as I have not seen her at
all. Of course, I am only there a few minutes
out of the day and am just taking for granted
that she is in the nest. However I know DAD
was quite upset over something yesterday. He
did not act like that today or any other day
except yesterday.
