Caption: All the other swans are on Lake Annecy are white - as far as I know - so where did this black one come from?

Not a freak, just an introduced species. Black swans (Cygnus atratus) are native to Australia and New Zealand. They are popular for their exotic look, and have been imported around the world. This one was probably released there, or escaped from somewhere near by.
