Evergreen, CO (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: ..and counting. Not even to the Mt. Evans Road yet, but this is where there is an extremely old forest. We took a little hike through some of them. The Forest Service was working up there on revegetating some areas and also working on erosion mitigation. Lots of 'Stay On The Path' signs, but no one cared. It is so amazing to see these ancient trees. Honest, I have pix of some live ones, too, but I liked this a lot.

Thank you, Susan! I hope your friends like
Evergreen. I love it. My friend lives there
and I spend a lot of time there. As for the
Mt. Evans drive..YES! White knucles on a few
places! It was harder being a passenger, I
think..especially when that drop-off was on
my side!LOL

Thanks, Diti! It was mostly a driving trip,
but we did stop and hike at four different
spots, enough to get sunburned for the first
time in years. I forgot sunscreen. Oh, well.
It was a beautiful day!

a capsulized version of the scenery as the day goes on.
And Yes, Bristlecone Pine.

I am SO SAD that WU is getting rid of the photography section. This has been the most wonderful outlet for me and my photography and I have met so many awesome people and seen photography that has been amazing on so many levels, because of WU. Thank you for the opportunities you gave us with your site. Man, I will really, really miss this. :-(
