This is cropped in as far as I dared. I snapped this while there was still a little bit of daylight, so the city glow never had a chance to play into it. Unfortunately, Albuquerque glows pretty bright-so our skies are just as obscured as most other locales. The high altitude helps though.

Beautiful!! Did you do a cropped, closer version of this by chance? Would love to see it! You have such clear desert skies there to be able to get out away from the city and get great captures--I'm envious! :-)

Thanks. How far we have come since the time of Galileo... He built his own telescope-while i needed only to screw a 230 mm lens onto a micro for thirds camera body.
