Many of our beech trees still have their leaves - especially the smaller trees. I guess they are more protected from the cold.

This almost looks like an "early snow in Fall"
shot with the leaves tenaciously clinging to that
tree. I love the way the sun highlights all the various
colors as you look deeper into the woods.
