Cascade Lake, Tahoe Sierra, CA

Caption: The glacier that carved foreground Cascade Lake drains a smaller area than that of Eagle Creek beyond it, which was able to carve Emerald Bay on through to Lake Tahoe (at it's current depth). Tahoe itself is said to have never froze. This shot is from the shoulder of Mt. Tallac, visible at far right in yesterdays AC shot.
