Oh, my, this is absolutely lovely.

I'm a big fan of James Michener and my favorite book/mini series is Centennial. The main river is the "North Platte" which I have always assumed was fictional. Is there a North Platte as well as the South? Or by chance did they film this river?

Either way, this photo is wonderful.

What an unusual photo and scene. It conveys to me a lonely feeling due to the cool colors, despite the reddish of the sky. The single tree featured at the horizon emphasizes the loneliness. Excellent composition.
