I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System). Caption: Gif showing snow accumulation last evening and overnight. Sorry for the 'interruption' in accumulation; I had to make a weather report at 5:30 pm, where I measure snowfall on the snowboard, and then scrape it off to get accumulation for the next 24 hour period.
Storm total so far (it's still snowing lightly as I post this) is 12.5 inches, though several locations around Tok received up to 18 inches. This has been FUN!
