Tok, AK (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Queen of the night sky, she only plays second fiddle when the aurora dance across her sky.

The moon has gone around the planet since the other shot in this series, from around 2 am. No aurora now, and the Moon is again the star.

Katy Google Earth has a moon that I think you will find interesting. You can turn it around in a circle to see the names of all the places on the moon. Look for the dark star shaped area (It is above the big dark area called Mare Serenitatis ) to tell how to position the moon to look like your picture.

I think the crater (about 10 o clock) is called Copernicus
The one at 7 o clock, Tycho- had the surveyor land in Jan 1968 and got close up pics.......just cool stuff

About katy99780

I've lived in Alaska since 1969. I love this wild land. The extremes of the far north shape and affect every living thing. Extremes of weather, elevation, daylight hours, isolation, flora and fauna, nothing in Nature is insignificant.I have a Davis Vantage Pro weather station, uploading to Wunderground, (Turks on the Tundra) the National Weather Service, the Citizen Weather Observation Program and MADIS (Meteorological Assimilation Data Ingest System).
