GULF LIGHTNING

Uploaded by: idzrvit

Tuesday July 16, 2013

Cape San Blas, FL (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: My family and I recently spent a week in Florida. I of course kept an eye on radar and weather data knowing there was a chance for some lightning during our visit. I could be talked into moving down there just for the lightning alone! I had a blast!

Congratulations on the WORLD VIEW. I would agree with you that moving down to FL for the opportunity to photograph lightning bolts is tempting. It was a lightning storm that convinced me to move down to Tampa. Thanks for sharing the photo.

Wow, a 10 from me!
Yes, trees are an issue... I was just on my roof to try to get above them. Of course, getting lightning over a body of water like that is the best.

Thank you all! We had a great time! My daughter was at the hotel pool when she came in to tell me she saw flashes of lightning. I was watching radar but it didn't look impressive. Seconds after, I was in the car driving 20 miles south to an open area. Dang there are a lot of trees there!
