Wow - brings back some great memories for me as well.

Growing up, we used to drive all the way up I-75 from southwest Ohio to Canada, on our annual fishing trip. In the wee hours of the morning, we would stop in Mackinaw City for breakfast, then complete our journey.

I have not thought about that for years. Thank you so much for bringing those wonderful memories back to the surface!

Bless you,

That brings up a nice memory for me also but when I went across we had a ferry -no bridge yet. I loved the island and would love to go back there but it wont happen. We had coffee in a small place on the grounds of the hotel.

About gardner48197

8/2015: Greetings from Michigan, where we get quite a wide variety of weather changes throughout the four seasons! Originally I found this site, for the weather, and the photos kept drawing my interest! Decided to get my first digital camera in 2010, and have since upgraded to a Nikon P530. Truly an amazing, eye-opening hobby! This is a great community, so many excellent photographers and friends, so little time! I do read and appreciate every comment and email that I receive! I would like to thank everyone who contributes, for all of the great inspiration and feedback! Sometime down the road I would still like to get a DSLR camera, but for now I just hope to send a small view of life from the Great Lakes State. Home of the University of Michigan Wolverines! Go Blue! -James
