I've always been fascinated reading about this moss but never had a chance to see it---great photo! I didn't realize till I read 'hoecat's' description that it's soft---it looks like it would be stiff! Someday maybe I'll get to see it in person. :-)

I remember playing with kind of moss as a kid.
It is so soft to the touch, thanks for sharing this wonderful series and bringing back great memories :)
