These are little ice bubbles that form along the bank of a river. When the ice is still fairly thin, funky little patterns, bubbles and swirls appear. I just walk along the bank, looking for anything that is noteworthy... and snap! snap! snap! :)

Very interesting and pretty! Can you tell us
how you made this or what it is that you
found these beautiful Mother Nature artsy
shapes on! It's really neat and would love
to hear the story.

Great catch, Claire! I do see the evergreen in the right hand bubble, and the grove of oaks on the left. What a good eye you have!

About ceocrocker

ceocrocker

I'm basically a "purist": no Photoshop, no HDR, no SLR (sigh!), and only minimal enhancements to my photos. What I share is my world pretty much as it looks to me during its finer moments. Most of my photos come from the 'hood, which includes my lovely Presumpscot River and the nearby "Sanctuary" below its dam where I go to reflect, heal and appreciate the gifts in my life. Thanks to all of you who consistently find time to comment on photos, both mine and those of others. You are a community of caring photographers and friends, and I'm thankful to be a part of it!
