This is a house finch. Just put out a feeder with a sunflower seed mix and you'll have dozens. They have a beautiful song. A great close-up!

Beautiful "Cardinal" Steve. I remember when I moved east, how excited I was to see my first Cardinal.

Never saw any birds like this by my feeder, but it has some red feathers, so looks a little like a Cardinal! :) This is a beautiful capture!

About backwardguy

backwardguy

My wife of 42 years and I live in Hermiston OR. on a 5 acre "farmette". I was an elementary school teacher for 29years. I retired at the end of June 2015 and have been working hard ever since!. I enjoy the outdoors and animals and I'm an avid (not a good) golfer. My wife and I take our motorcycles on long trips and our destinations are almost always the beautiful National parks in Oregon, California, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Washington, Utah, and last summer we added Arizona to the list. Photography has long been an interest of mine and many of my photos are taken on our little farmette, and on our motorcycle trips.Click for weather forecast
