She has been very tolerant of me.... allowed me to water the plant VERY gently from the opposite side of the basket from her nest, and stayed put. The only time I've seen her move off the nest was the first time I watered (I suppose she didn't know what to expect and I made her nervous -- that's when I got the photo of her eggs) and when her mate relieves her incubation duties so she can eat, drink and exercise.

beautiful closeup. we've had some in baskets too, now have one in in a narrow basket just to the right of our front door. she doesn't appreciate us going in and out very much but maybe its better if other birds are reluctant to come close.
