Cedar Waxwing

Danville, VA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: I found the cedar waxwings today over in the woods behind the cardinal tree in the top of some really tall trees. Is the sap rising or what because I promise you the cardinals seem to be after something that was coming from trunk of tree. Same with the waxwings they kept flying into the tree trunk. These buds look just like the ones in the shorter cardinal tree. I am thinking that was a maple tree.
