@illiac... no! And I was totally surprised by that. Normally, the water breaks up into 'lumps' as it falls, and you get a real thunder thud type effect... really noticeable. But with so MUCH water going over the falls, it never breaks up! It's just a continuous pour as it were... lots of 'white noise', but no thumping. I never expected that, but then I'd never been up there during a flood event before. Learn something new every day!

heh... it's not the Great Northern anymore! :) It's called the Salish Lodge, and it's VERY open... and still worth the drive.

Is the restaurant still at the falls. Ate there years ago with honey "from the sky" on the biscuits. Everyone said (in those days) that they had the best chicken around and it was good too. AB

Absolutely beautiful and kind of scary with the water that flooded....

It could just be me, but the thumbnail looks kind of like Godzilla shooting fire. Ah, my wasted youth and monster movies from Japan....

Thanks, you guys! SVLover, I actually WANTED to take a day shot... but just didn't get up in that area during the day. Drove up there after work, and there was still just the tiniest bit of light in the sky... I was REALLY happy about the way it turned out. Not so happy about the ice-melt temperature of the spray.

Lots of flooding downstream in Fall City, Duvall, that area. We've been getting a string of systems bursting with rain... and a few more days of it yet to come.
