I love the way the colorful streaks all come together, drawing the eye. The skeleton tree on the left gives it balance. Excellent composition!.

Uh, not to put to fine a point on it, but this is a sunrise. I am on the west bank of the river looking east here. This little "pond" is just a side depression along the river, which you can see toward the back of the photo. I used this spot as the calm water made a good reflector. Usually this area is under at least 5 feet of water, but the Army Corp of Engineers likes to keep the water level lower in the Spring to prevent flooding such as we had in 2011 when they got an ear full!

About LarryD

I really enjoy this site. The wonderful photos I see here never cease to amaze, and inspire me. I look forward to reading the comments on my photos. I am inordinately pleased when I am awarded an Approvers Choice. I use Nikon equipment and am especially fond of macro photography. I continue to be astounded by the beauty in the miniature world visible though my lens. Additionally, I rarely have to venture very far to find interesting subjects. The Henry Doorly zoo is my favorite location. If you get to Omaha Nebraska. I highly recommend you spend some time at the zoo with your camera. Larry
