Belchertown, MA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: The day started out clear, once again, but by 9:00, clouds were beginning to fill the sky. So glad we got to Quabbin Reservoir early! This is one of the largest, untreated water supply sources in the world. It provides water of the highest quality for 2.4 million households daily. The Swift River was dammed in 1938, flooding four towns which had been cleared and whose folks were resettled into neighboring towns. It covers 39,000 acres of water, and 96,000 acres of protected watershed.
