Birth of Peace

Lexington, VA (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: This is the oldest building, one of the original at Virginia Military Institute. It remains because a young woman was in childbirth as a Civil War battle raged all around. The woman's mother carried a white flag over to the soldiers on the other side of the river and asked for the building to be spared. A gentle reminder of the celebration of the birth of a Child who saves so many!

This evokes a thought!!!...maybe it is not the soldiers that wage war, but the politicians!
