Caption: A side view of the North Falls at Silver Falls State Park. It leads to a Cave behind the falls. There are about 10 falls at the park and nearly half have trails that lead you behind the falls. Multiple layers of lava flows covered the area during the formation of the Cascade Mountains. The water has eroded away at the ash layers between the flows, opening up the caves behind the falls.
