My interest in weather really spun up during my career in wildland fire management in Southern California, as weather has a tremendous affect on wildfire starts and behavior. This is an, ahem, older photo of me in those days. I'm now living in central Texas, and weather is a very serious hobby of mine. My weather web site, providing current, historical, and forecast weather conditions for Central Texas is Round Rock Weather. var sc_project=2591691; var sc_invisible=0; var sc_partition=25; var sc_security="b5a0cb54";
Remnants of Erin

Caption: Williamson County has dodged a couple of bullets lately. Erin passed by without dropping much rain on the county (though rainfall upstream has caused additional river rises) and it now appears that Dean, earlier thought to be headed for a direct hit on Texas, will be making landfall well into Mexico, perhaps 200 miles south of Brownsville. These very tropical clouds were seen on the 17th as Erin made her way north-northwestward.
