Textures of Ice

Caption: After a literally dry run the last time I visited Minnehaha Falls I was not sure what to expect in the winter. Would there be any ice without enough snow? I guess there is.

Thank you. The outside falls shots turned out okay, even if slightly blurry/ grainy at 400 iso hand held with the shutter at about 20-30. I took some shots inside the falls too. Being dim out muted the colors. But There's another day to catch the bright glowing blues and greens.

I almost gave up when I saw the clock and I was at a meeting. It was about 4:30. But on a whim I asked to be dropped off at the falls, even if it was just at sunset. I'm glad I went. i'll just have to get around to take pictures, even if I may not feel like it's an ideal time.

Edit: IDK why it's in the VIP gallery. I guess the editors are hinting at our next week's forecast lol....Not looking forward to negatives for highs.

About Fieldofflowers

Fieldofflowers

Every day that I come here, I'm amazed by the awesome photos I see. I love to take photos of whatever catches my eye. Usually my photos have something to do with nature. Insects and flowers have always been a big interest. You can also find me on Flickr. Summer '09 goal: Aiming to take pictures daily, and upload some of my favorites. I hope people enjoy them as much as I do. Most of the time, the fun comes from taking the pictures, more than the actual results. Create your own visitor map! Counter started: 6-21-09
