My name is Dave. I live in Robertson, South Africa – 170 km from the Southernmost tip of Africa; 159 metres (521 feet) above sea level. This is a premier wine- and fruit-producing area where temperatures range from -1°C in winter with rain and snow to maxima of around 40-43°C at the height of our dry summers. Our climate is a Mediterranean one. It’s an arid region, but the large Breede (‘Wide’) River flowing through it assures us of sufficient water all year round.
