I Heard You!

Gennesse, CO

Caption: These elk were right next to the road. There were about a dozen of them, comfortable among the homes of Gennesse. People who live in the foothills have learned to coexist with wildlife and it makes for an interesting drive through the neighborhoods. There is green grass (barely) and only this one elk even bothered looking up from the pleasure of eating fresh greens.

I was pleased to see how healthy they looked!
They sure wanted those tiny new little blades of
fresh, green grass, though! Probably seems like
a gourmet feast to them after eating months old
dry grass. Thanks, Linda!

It is pretty cool. In Gennesse and in Evergreen
you see them all the time in populated areas.
If you have a house on a little acreage, it's
not uncommon to have them come and take a nap in
your yard, or your field.

These are about 20 minutes from my house,
Delana, but we have had some in our fields
from time to time, too.

Beautiful capture Kat, we don't have any Elk close
to us. We'd have to drive a couple hours away to see them.
