Ice Flowers

Uploaded by: ChrisAnthemum

Monday November 26, 2012

Westfield, NC (Current Weather Conditions)

Caption: Formed by the bursting open of dying plant stalks due to freezing, and the escape of moisture in them, which then freezes into these crystalline structures. This is the first time I have ever seen these and I wouldn't even know what they are if it were not that other WUG photographers have posted them before. I learn something every day on this site!
