OR, OR

Caption: For the first time this year I was able to reach this area between Roads End and Cascade Head. It requires a combination of a once a month low tide, the correct time of day, and decent weather. It's too early in the year for the sand approach (unless you like wading in 3 feet of ocean against the rocks at 50 degrees), it requires traversing a 60 foot rocky spine. However, once you get there the payoff is immense. You can't linger for very long or the returning tide will strand you -- not good!

Quoting TucsonDoug:
Wonderful composition. So colorful too. Are those barnacles all over those rocks? Congratulations on your new AC.

Yep, those are barnacles! These rocks spend most of their time at least partially under the ocean so the barnacles are plentiful.

About Bluesmaster

Bluesmaster

Coastal Oregon has stolen my heart after over 50 years in central Ohio. The scenery here offers photo opportunities that I never thought possible. I enjoy hiking and taking photos along the way. I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy shooting them. -- Randall
