A fine amateur picture. You were up pretty late to take this picture in mid September.

Quoting WurzelDave:
If i remember rightly this galaxy is moving towards us (the milky way galaxy), likewise we are moving towards it. So eventually....
Splendid shot & a great AC.

One Big Galaxy Milkdromeda (milkyway + andromeda)
not for a few billion years.. what a sight it will be to see this filling half the night sky :

A Sincere and Humble thanks for everyone's comments.. think in approx 4.5 billion years, our milky-way galaxy will merge with the Andromeda galaxy and we will form one GIANT elliptical Galaxy..wonder if our decedents will witness Andromeda filling the entire night sky..
Cheers and Again Thanks -

What an incredibly magnificent photograph! Even the ones on the "Astronomy Picture of the Day" website aren't nearly as detailed as your shot. Great job here - way to go on your AC. Keep on shootin' and sharin' - as Tony the Tiger would say, "they're great!"
