This is one of the best Northern Lights photos I've ever seen. The city lights and the mountains really add to the perspective of this marvelous phenomenon.

Romans 1:18-20 (NLT)
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness.
19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.
20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

For me, this aurora photo even tops the award winning photo taken in 2010 (not posted on wunderground) of the volcanic eruption on Iceland at night with the aurora in the background.

If there was a category this photos gets my vote in the top ten of all Approver's Choice photos on wunderground.

This is definitely the best aurora lights photo I have ever seen, this is so beautiful that I would brave out the cold weather just to see it. I faved it and I am even going to make it my new background if you don't mind.
Oh and congrats on being featured on Dr Jeff Masters' New Blog!

Such clarity! Even through the wave of lights Orion, Sirus, Taurus and the Pleiades are visible. Eridanus (the River of Stars) is just coming into view on the left.

These are so beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing your world with those of us who rarely, if ever, get to see this! When I was about 8 years old my parents got me out of bed one night and took me outside in the snow to see the northern lights. It's been a favorite memory for the past 60 years! Thank you for bringing that back!
