THANK YOU for providing the awsome pics! I am delighted to see 'events' from other parts of the world. Since I have always lived in Florida, I have never seen these spectacular lights. Again, thank you.

Wow Matt! This is just beautiful. I have never seen the lights myself in person, so to see it in your photos is wonderful. It must have been so awesome and you must have wanted to send us the whole sky to get the full impact of what you were looking at. Great job and thanks for sharing. Glad this went to AC. Keep 'em coming and keep celebrating life, Debra

It's truly a great shot of an Aurora as viewed on a winter's night in Alaska. Congratulations on the AC.

It's a surprise there hasn't been a shortage of this phenomena due to the solar minimum.

Great aurora! I've seen them all my life from NW Minn. I remember great displays in 1949, 1960, 1981, early 1990's. Digital cameas are great for aurora! Keep 'em coming!

I've always liked northern lights. When I was a kid one Hallowe'en we had northern lights and it added to our spooky thoughts.

Thanks for posting this really fine series.
I live near the south end of Lake Michigan. When I was a kid (1950's) this green/white display would show for nights on end.
I would pour over solar flare pictures in Life Magazine during the day, back then.
The great display of Nov. 5, 2001 at 8:00 pm caught me driving under a clear sky, in dark-sky Michigan.

Great shot! I've always been curious how long of an exposure these type of shots are. Also settings. Could you let us know since the exif data is erased? Thanks!!
