Caption: My Mother passed 16 years ago, and my Dad gave me her birdbath. I have done nothing to it, though I am thinking a fresh coat of paint is due. What colors do you think?

Thank you for the great advice! I was thinking of painting the inside blue, so they would know it was water... but maybe the earth look would be better. I have read that butterflies like muddy water. My mom painted it brown, I thought to have it match the trim on our house. Now I see there may have been another reason. :o)

Tensie, it is a lovely birdbath. If I were going to do anything to it, I think I would give it a coat of light terra cotta. That would brighten it up a little but still it would have a natural earthern look to it. I think it may even attract more birds. :)
