... High rip current risk in effect until 6 am AST Friday...

The National Weather Service in San Juan has issued a high rip
current risk, which is in effect until 6 am AST Friday.

* Location... from the San Juan area beaches through the southeast
coast of Puerto Rico and the north and east beaches of St Croix.

* Timing... until 6 am AST Friday morning.

* Impacts... strong currents that can carry away even the best
swimmers.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

There is a high risk of rip currents.

Swim near a lifeguard. If caught in a rip current, relax and
float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a
direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the
shore and call or wave for help.
