Special Statement
Issued: 6:45 AM EDT Aug. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Locally dense fog early this morning...

Areas of fog remain locally dense early this morning over
portions of central and southern Virginia, as well as interior
northeast North Carolina. Visibilities through 8 am will average
around one mile, but locally will be reduced to one quarter mile
or less at times. Conditions are expected to gradually improve
after 8 am this morning, with most of the fog expected to have
dissipated by 9 am.

Motorists should be alert for sudden changes in visibility due to
the areas of dense fog. Drive at reduced speeds and use low beam
headlights only.
