... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 515 PM EDT
for east central Berks... northwestern Montgomery and west central
Bucks counties...

At 441 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Gilbertsville,
or 18 miles east of reading, moving east at 25 mph.

Hazard... 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... minor damage to vehicles is possible. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to Mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Norristown, Pottstown, Lansdale, West Norriton, East Norriton,
Perkasie, Souderton, Collegeville, Trappe, Hatfield, East Greenville,
Dublin, Schwenksville, Bally, Bechtelsville, Green Lane, fricks,
Spring Mount, Geryville and Gilbertsville.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

This is a very dangerous storm! For your protection move to an
interior room on the lowest floor of a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Delaware, northeast Maryland, New Jersey, and
Pennsylvania, including the following areas, in Delaware, Kent
and New Castle. In northeast Maryland, Caroline, Cecil, Kent
MD, Queen Annes, and Talbot. In New Jersey, Camden,
Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, northwestern
Burlington, Salem, Somerset, Sussex, Warren, and western
Monmouth. In Pennsylvania, Berks, Delaware, eastern Chester,
eastern Montgomery, Lehigh, lower Bucks, Northampton,
Philadelphia, upper Bucks, western Chester, and western
Montgomery.

* Until midnight EDT tonight

* multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms can be expected
through tonight. Torrential downpours with storms that develop
this evening could produce rainfall rates greater than 2 inches
per hour. While the entire area will not receive heavy rain,
isolated rainfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are possible where
storms track over the same locations.

* Torrential rain falling in a short period of time will result
in rapidly rising water levels along streams and creeks and in
areas of poor drainage. Significant roadway flooding is
possible in isolated areas.

to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
