The National Weather Service in Upton NY has issued a

* flood advisory for...
western and central Suffolk County in southeastern New York...
Nassau County in southeastern New York...

* until 1015 am EDT

* at 921 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy showers along with a
few thunderstorms moving east across the area. Radar estimated
maximum hourly rainfall rates of 1/2 to 1 inch per hour. This will
cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Brentwood, Levittown, Commack, Huntington Station, Centereach, Deer
Park, Glen Cove, Plainview, Medford, Garden City, Hauppauge,
Lynbrook, Ronkonkoma, Syosset and Mineola.
