Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:35 PM MDT Aug. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
east central San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...
central Quay County in east central New Mexico...
northern Curry County in east central New Mexico...

* until 330 PM MDT.

* At 135 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. One to two inches of rain could fall in one
hours time.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon, Grady, Ute Lake State Park, Wheatland
and Bard.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely.
