... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Monday morning...

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of southeast New Mexico and
southwest Texas, including the following areas, in southeast
New Mexico, Eddy County plains and Guadalupe Mountains of Eddy
County. In southwest Texas, Guadalupe Mountains and Van Horn
and Highway 54 corridor.

* Through Monday morning

* heavy rainfall enhanced by terrain will result in the threat of
flash flooding of arroyos and small streams in western eddy and
Culberson counties as well as urbanized areas including
Carlsbad.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
