Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 2:06 PM MDT Aug. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
western Torrance County in central New Mexico...

* until 400 PM MDT.

* At 203 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms over western Torrance County. This will cause Arroyo
and small stream flooding in the advisory area, including the
Torreon draw, the Arroyo del Cuervo, Cerrito del Llano, and Punta
de Agua surrounding New Mexico State Route 55.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Torreon, Tajique and Manzano.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

The heavy rainfall and slow movement of these storms may result in
flooding of Road intersections and low lying areas. Waters may begin
to run in normally dry arroyos.
